The surrounding countryside of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is ideal for hiking and cycling. It is 6 km to Schwerin Castle, and 500 metres to the Schwerin-Muess Open Air Museum. A breakfast buffet is provided between 07:30 and 09:30 each morning, and there are barbecue facilities which can be used.
