Initially built as the home for the "Condes de Azevedo", the Palace owned by Viscount Francisco Lopes de Azevedo Velho da Fonseca de Barbosa Pinheiro Pereira e Sá served various purposes throughout its time. Probably its most iconic role, was when a typography was set up, essential for the "First Portuguese Grammar" in 1536, having translated other essential works of Cervantes and Virgílio.
