Island Hostel - Adults only

Our Hostel is located on a huge green-belted-area, the Margaret Island in the heart of Budapest. Island Hostel features a large, 200 m2 terrace with a view of the Danube River. Where you can listen to birds singing, or rest and have a sunbathe in one of our hammocks. If you are looking for more activities we have tabletennis, bedminton and we can lend you board/card games too. We do also have a grill and other outdoor cooking option avialable. The hostel is surrended by a more than 900000 m2 park, with a running track around, so if you prefer active holidays, this is a perfect place for you too. You can run every morning with the rising Sun, but you can also rent bikes and electric scooters from us to explore the Island and the city, but we have outdoor gyms and swimming facilities around too: Hajós Alfréd Uszoda is just 5 minutes walk from us and Palatinus Beach is also 200 metres from Island Hostel, just like Margitszigeti Atlétikai Centrum. But holidays are not just for resting doing sports, during the summer season we have an own, on-site pub, where you can have a refreshing beer, delicious burgers, lángos (it’s a hungarian traditional fast food!), and even various flavours of shishas. They offer an option for a la carte breakfast too, rich inprotein eggs, healthy veggies, delicious dips are waiting for you to start your day with full energy. No curfew! You can leave and come whenever you’d like to with your door code. Bedsheets and linen are included. Towels are available for lending if need it. With every reservation you get a key for a locker where you can keep your belongings. You will have your own reading light and 2 plugs to charge your electric devices near the bed. Every room has its own bathroom so you only need to share it with your roomates. We have an everyday cleaning service to keep everything clean. Homemade a la carte breakfast not included (extra rate) contains scrambled eggs, toasts, veggies and dips. Vegetarian options are also available. We have cupons up to 50% discount for a welcome drink in Stég Pub in the same building and because you are our guest you have 10% discount for everything at the bar during your stay. Our WiFi has a wide range, very fast and of course it’s free. Can be used in every common places and your own room too. The hostel is calm, peaceful and located in a green-belted-area. No cars are allowed at the Island! Only ships get in traffic jams around here! Our hostel has a powerful heating system for the freezing days and for the summer ceiling fans are at work in all 8-and 10-bed dormitories and for the other rooms we can lend fans to help you deal with the heat. We have a fully equipped kitchen, with everything you need to make you feel at home. You can cook anything on our hot plates or use the microwave. The bread is too soft? Just use the toaster and make it crunchy. Where to store leftovers and beer? Of course in the fridges and we also have freezers. You only need to label your items, so everyone will know it’s yours. If you’d like to warm up your soul with a delicious tea, you can use the kettle and if your fuel is coffee, we provide you a good old stovetop espresso maker or a lighter Dolce Gusto machine. You have been travelling around the world and would like to wash your clothes before the next stop? Don’t worry, we have a laundry service, including cleaning products to get your clothes smelling nice and dried. We can lend you an iron too if necessary to get rid off wrinkled clothes. Hair dryer is available too. If needed just ask the receptionist :) In the summer season you’ll find various different bars and restaurants around on the island. The closest supermarket, McDonald’s and other restaurants are within 15 minutes walk on the mainland. If you’re starving and lazy, we have an emergency shop at the reception. Where you can buy instant noodles, snacks, drinks and hungarian beers too. We thought about our light sleepers guests so we have earplugs too. We did’nt forget about the forgetfull travellers either. You can buy travel small shampoos, toothbrush set, disposable razors to get rid off the unwanted hairs. If you have no idea what to do in Budapest or don’t have anything planned, our receptionists can help you to find the perfect activities for you. If you’re bored from the mainland parties and want more options to go, we suggest you to go to boat parties or a fancy boat for sightseeing and wine tasting. Budapest is famous for it’s parties, every Saturday is Spartyday in Széchényi Spa, but of course we can offer you tickets to the spa during the daytime too.
