Welcome to our newly refurbished guest house & pub which was originally opened in 1733 and previously known as The Clarendon. We are family friendly & situated in a great position just 10 minutes walk from the historic town centre of Colchester. Our guests can enjoy a relaxing drink in front of the open fire & then venture into town where there are numerous restaurants and bars to choose from. Our friendly staff are happy to advise & answer any questions about the local area. We are situated approximately 35 miles from Stansted airport & 50 miles from London. We are Britain's oldest recorded town & boast many historic buildings, countryside & coastline. There are plenty of places to visit with the children too, including Colchester Zoo, which is one of Europes finest.
